With Russian Prime Minister, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin present, January 25, 2010 was the grand opening of Spartak Sports Complex's new indoor ice rink.
The rink's area covers over 2,000 m2, and The main construction material is Thermopanel sandwich panels. A total of 1,900 m2 of sandwich wall panels, and 3,200 m2 of roofing panels was supplied.
The arena holds training sessions and competitions in ice hockey and figure skating, and the spectator capacity is three hundred. In addition to the ice rink the two-story building houses halls for fitness and choreography classes, rooms for coaching staff, lockers and shower rooms.

The Kazan Equestrian Center is one of Europe's largest, and is the only top-level equestrian center in Russia. It is a multi-purpose 89.4 ha facility divided into several zones. The competition and show zone has a covered 4000-seat grandstand and an open 2000-seat grandstand. The hippodrome consists of curved racing (1,800 m) and chasing (1,600 m) tracks. The training area consists of a hippodrome and an indoor arena that is used by both professional riders and beginners. There are also a one hundred fifty meter jumping area and two dressage fields for equine training. The owners' area is for horse breeders and private horse owners. It includes twelve stables, a veterinary clinic with a room for horses, a winter pool for horse bathing, a feed storage area, a carpenter's workshop, a blacksmith's and a saddlery. There is also a park, which includes a riding school and facilities for recreational horse and pony riding. The spectator entertainment and betting zone includes restaurants, bars, a cafeteria and a pari-mutuel, whose proceeds finance the equestrian center and the equestrian industry in Tatarstan.
